Who it is for

Sign Language is a rich and beautiful language that can be enjoyable and educational for everyone. This tape can be used with hearing children, hearing impaired children, language delayed children or anyone who is developmentally challenged. It is designed to attract the attention of babies as young as 3 months and yet is fun and educational for children as old as 5 or 6. Parents will enjoy watching with their children and can use the information section at the end of the video to learn how to use sign language with their children and the review section to quiz themselves on the signs they have seen in the video.

Caregivers using sign language do not need to be fluent in ASL to aid the child’s language development. Rather they need to learn a handful of the most pertinent signs and use them in many settings. The child will begin to develop an understanding of language in general and sign language specifically. This will increase their ability to communicate in both verbal and nonverbal ways.
